The Eising Family Story 1895-1978
From Drenthe to Southern Ontario
Hendrik Eising and Hendrikien Boxen lived through very interesting times. They went from a remote rural village in the Drenthe, the Netherlands, in the late 1800’s to urban living in Southern Ontario in the 1960’s & 70’s, from horse-and-buggy travel to jet planes and moon landings. They lived through two World Wars, the Great Depression, and immigration to a new land. Their entire family, including all six children, immigrated within a few years. They helped establish churches, schools, businesses and farms. Their many descendants across Canada attest to their legacy.
