'Ahnentafel', meaning 'ancestor table' in German, is a genealogical numbering system for listing a person's direct ancestors in a fixed sequence. In Dutch this is known as a 'kwartierstaat'. In this system the starting person is number 1, his/her father number 2, and mother number 3. This continues for each subsequent generation - double the number to get the father, and double plus 1 to get to the mother. If a person is not known their number will not appear, so, eventually you will see that some numbers are 'missing'.
In these files all the ancestors are linked so it is easy to navigate around by simply clicking on the hi-lighted individuals, so there is no need to do the math and scroll to find the parents. There are linked images in the files as well and, if you click on them, they will come up full size.
My work on these files is ongoing and they will be updated regularly as I edit the information in my database and add to this website.
